Health Education for Primary Schools

Professionally Developed, Visually Engaging
- Educational content professionally developed through years of experience as a health educator, counsellor, and facilitator working with young people in primary schools across Victoria
- Slide imagery created in collaboration with professional graphic designers
- Structured using High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) to support clarity, engagement, and strong curriculum delivery
All content is developed in line with the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS), allowing teachers to confidently address key Health curriculum outcomes required by the Department of Education.
The program delivers the core knowledge expected within the curriculum while recognising that families play an important role in shaping the values and conversations that sit around that learning at home.
A strong emphasis is placed on preparing children with accurate, age appropriate information in a way that builds confidence, reduces uncertainty, and supports understanding before concerns arise.
Sessions are designed to lean into students’ developing maturity, leadership qualities, and capacity for thoughtful discussion, helping create a learning environment where young people are invited to engage respectfully and take ownership of their learning.
The program is delivered with care and nuance, recognising that every classroom contains different experiences, levels of maturity, and family backgrounds, while remaining firmly aligned with Department of Education expectations.
In person parent information sessions can also be offered prior to delivery, giving families the opportunity to understand the content, ask questions, and feel confident about how the learning will be approached.
The program has already been delivered successfully within a primary school setting in Torquay, where feedback from both staff and families was overwhelmingly positive.
So This Is Puberty is a child-centred Health Education program designed for primary school students, supporting them to understand key developmental milestones in a way that is safe, respectful, inclusive, and empowering.
The program covers:
- Puberty
- Respectful Relationships (friends, family, and crushes)
- Personal Identity
- Reproduction (age-appropriate and curriculum-aligned)
- Help Seeking & Mental Health
This program is grounded in my professional background as a qualified Physical Education teacher, holding a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physical Education), and is informed by my extensive experience working with children and young people across education, health, and wellbeing settings.
A Student-Centred, Trauma-Informed Approach
So This Is Puberty is intentionally student-centred and uses:
- Clear, respectful, and trauma-informed language
- Concepts that are accessible and adaptable for students with diverse learning needs
- Inclusive practices that support neurodivergent learners
- Opportunities for students to ask questions in a safe and supported environment
The focus is on building understanding, confidence, and self-awareness – not fear or shame.
Body Safety, Consent & Children’s Rights

A core strength of this program is its strong emphasis on:
- Body safety
- Understanding the rights of the child
- Consent and boundaries
- Recognising early warning signs in the body when something doesn’t feel right
Students learn how tuning into their body’s signals can help them make sense of their feelings, communicate boundaries, and seek support when needed. These principles are taught in a way that supports everyone involved, fostering empathy, respect, and shared responsibility.
High-Quality Resources & Curriculum Alignment
Learning is delivered through engaging presentations that have been:
- Curated and developed by professional graphic designers
- Designed to be visually clear, engaging, and age-appropriate
All content has been developed in line with the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) framework, allowing teachers to confidently meet and tick off key criteria within the Health curriculum stream as required by the Department of Education.
Accessible, Affordable & Equity-Focused
So This Is Puberty reflects a strong commitment to equity, ensuring every child has access to high quality education around their body, relationships, emotions, and personal safety.
The program aims to equip children with knowledge, language, and confidence so they can better understand themselves and move through this stage of development with curiosity and reassurance.
